Looking for brunch in Paris? You’re in luck as Paris does brunch really well. Okay, that’s not a surprise given the insanely good food scene here, but where should you be heading? From decadent buffets (with oysters and beef wellington) to quiet, quirky coffee shops serving up casual brunch classics, I’ve tested a lot of them.
This guide pulls from over 9 years of living here and covers my go-to brunch spots across the city.

My Favorite Brunches in Paris
I’m always discovering new brunches in Paris so bookmark and check back soon for new recommendations. Restaurants listed in no particular order.
Le Repaire de Cartouche
Le Repaire de Cartouche is perhaps the most foodie and gourmand brunch option in this list.
Not far from the Place de la République, this small, inconspicuous auberge is well off the well-beaten tourist trail and very much a locals’ spot.

Where do I start to describe their brunch? It’s a buffet format with pretty much exclusively old school French classics. To start there’s homemade boudin noir (black pudding), pâté, rillettes and foie gras accompanied with pickles and chutney.

Pace yourself though as there’s more – oysters, smoked salmon, shrimp, whelks and rotisserie chicken with homemade fries on offer – it’s incredible.

You’re probably not going to order pressed juice and coffee here – come just after midday and order one of their excellent bottles of wine. Eat, drink and enjoy – this is a real Parisian foodie kind of brunch.

Bellevilloise Jazz Brunch
The Jazz Brunch at the Bellevilloise had been on my hit list for years and it’s a fantastic brunch in the north of the city. The artsy restaurant/concert hall/bar is rather at odds with the traditional Parisian aesthetic but it’s really cool.
Selling out pretty much year-round, you’ll need to reserve a week or two in advance – it’s that popular. Worth it? Absolutely. Quality live music paired with very well-prepared food makes this fantastic value at just €35 per person.

It’s a buffet-style format with savoury, sweet and drink options included. On the hot savoury side, you’ll find scrambled eggs, bacon, roast sweet potatoes and rotisserie chicken. There’s a huge array of cold salads, hummus, aubergine cream, roast broccoli & beetroot and a killer cheese and charcuterie selection.
On the sweet side there’s pastries, yoghurt, muesli, fruit salad and a delicious chocolate mousse.

Drinks are included – fruit juices, tea and coffee. All high quality. No instant coffee or ultra long life juices here.

The music is incredible – three really talented jazz musicians play non-stop for the majority of the two hour service. It’s relaxed, not too loud and creates an amazing atmosphere. Finally, they also have an amazing rooftop bar which is open during the warmer months – you can read more about it in my guide to the best rooftop bars in Paris.

Benoit Castel
Benoit Castel (named after the owner/chef) is another great foodie buffet style brunch in the city. They have two locations serving up weekend brunch and they’re very popular with locals.

Their location in the 20th arrondissement is literally right next to where I live and from the outside, it seems like an average boulangerie. Inside you’ll find a bakery section as well as a large dining area close to a huge traditional wood fired oven where all the dishes are cooked.

Pretty much everything on offer is made in house – from the jams, the butter and of course all their pastries and bread. Speaking of which, the selection is insane. There’s brioche au sucre, croissants, pain au chocolat and a lot of different sliced bread ready to toast.

On the savoury side there are some killer salads – leeks vinaigrette and the very French endive salad to name a few. There’s also of course roast potatoes, roast chicken, focaccia, truffled scrambled eggs, bacon… and a lot more. I loved their lamb shoulder tajine during my last visit – it was sweet, well spiced and fall-off-the-bone.

For €35 per person, it’s incredible value – just make sure to come hungry!

Carlota
Carlota is a great little restaurant that serves up a Latino-inspired brunch all the way through to dinner and late night cocktails. Located in the 9th arrondissement, it’s close to Pigalle and Montmartre which makes it a great option if you’re staying in the area.
The restaurant is airy, light and has a really nice, relaxed decor. Unlike a lot of brunch joints in Paris, you’re not going to be crammed in like sardines.

I really like Carlota’s brunch. They have a set menu that isn’t too heavy, but has a lovely blend of French & Mexican style savoury choices and traditional sweet dishes.
Kicking off with a cold, freshly pressed OJ and a flat white made from some seriously good light roasted beans. Their granola is tasty, light and topped with some delicious candied nuts.

Their savoury dishes are original and rotate pretty frequently. A twist on huevos rancheros (fried eggs on tacos) with beetroot hummus and salsa verde is delicious.. Our other dish was a killer croissant sandwich, filled with egg, avocado and plenty of herbs.

Bambin
Bambin is a small independent coffeeshop close to where I live in the lively Belleville area and is hugely popular with locals. It’s relatively new, opening in early 2025 by locals Astrid and Pénélope.
Children and family friendly, it’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for an option to bring the little ones. The inside even has a small play area for when the kids have had enough of sitting at the table.

Serving brunch from 11am to 2pm, they have small yet super well-done selection of brioche toasts and a choice of sides.
I love their brioche perdue breaky which is an English breakfast-style toast (eggs, bacon, tomato sauce, cheese, chives and fried onions). They also have a great slow cooked aubergine toast with miso bringing a hit of umami and it works really well. If you’re hungry for more, you can also order sides of hash browns, roast mushrooms and extra scrambled eggs.

Like any good coffeeshop, their coffee is also top notch using locally roasted beans. Oh and their house lemonade is awesome too. Finally, if you have space, get their Affogato to finish – it’s delicious!
