Spring and Summer in Paris is magical – it’s the perfect time to be outside enjoying a drink and some tapas in the capital’s famous terrasses. But when it gets hot and stuffy, getting out of the hustle and bustle is a must, and what better way to have a relaxing drink with a breeze is on one of many best rooftops Paris with amazing views of the city.
This guide has all the the best rooftop bars in Paris for you to discover on your next trip to the capital. We’ve included bar options where you can grab a drink or two and restaurants where you can reserve in advance before you arrive.
Tips from a local
- During Spring and Summer most popular roof top bars are open every day
- However during these peak seasons most bars can get very busy during weekend evenings – expect it find it hard to find a table and to queue 10+ minutes for a drink
- I’d advise to go during the day during week days or mid-afternoon on weekends.
Paris rooftop bars
There are more and more roof-top bars popping up over the capital as they’ve become very popular in recent years. Here’s our guide to the very best in Paris.
Le Perchoir Ménilmontant
In the 11th arrondissement, just off the party street rue Oberkampf lies Le Perchoir. On the 7th floor on top of a former industrial building (now home to start-ups and studios) Le Perchoir offers 360 views over the north side of the city. Offering beer, wine and cocktails they also have tapas/small sharing plates such as pizzettes, hummous and croquettes. The drinks menu is diverse with excellent craft beer from Parisian breweries and a fantastic curated cocktail list. There’s plenty of open seating around the roof-top with the majority of areas having unobstructed views across the capital.
There’s also other Le Perchoir rooftops in the Marais, next to the Gare de l’Est and the Porte de Versailles.

Terrass Rooftop Bar
Located in the heart of Montmartre and perched on top of a hotel (Terass), Terrass’ bar gives epic views from it’s 7th floor panoramic rooftop. Like Le Perchoir, Terrass has a large selection of drinks to choose from including seasonal cocktails (and mocktails for those wanting to avoid alcohol), beer and wine. They also have a limited tapas menu including cheesy roasted fingerling potatoes, salmon gravlax, duck terrine and cheese & ham planches.

Bar à Vin, Printemps
One of the least well known roof-top bars in Paris, and for us a hidden gem, is the wine bar above the Printemps Homme in the 8th arrondissement. Located on the 8th floor on the epicery section of the large department store, the wine bar has a small terrace outside with incredible views of the Eiffel Tower, Madeline and the Arc de Triomphe. Started by a popular Parisian wine shop, Le Repaire de Bacchus, there’s a great selection of wine and French beer as well as one of the view places that sell very high end champagne by the glass. Here it’s possible to try a Dom Perignon vintage without having to spend 250€+ for a bottle!

Paris rooftop dining
If you want more than a drink and a snack and would prefer a sit-down meal, there’s plenty of roof top restaurants in Paris.
Acte Deux
Taken over in 2021 by Chef Masahide Ikuta (ex. Les Enfants du Marché), Acte Deux is a rooftop restaurant in the Marais with epic views across the city centre. Specialising in grilled meat and fish cooked over their wood burning Josper grill, it’s a great restaurant to try more inventive food. The food pairings here are daring – ris-de-veau with smoked eel, trompette de la mort mushrooms with abalone clams and foie gras – but all work incredibly well together. There’s also whole grilled turbot, lobster and cote de boeuf which are all epic and can be paired with an incredible selection of natural wine.

Les Ombres
If you’re looking for a real Parisian dining experience and want a rooftop restaurant with Eiffel Tower view then Les Ombres might be the perfect choice. Located on the Quai Jacques Chirac next to the river Seine, the restaurant terrace offers incredible, uninterrupted views on the Eiffel Tower. The inside restaurant is entirely glass-sided so even if it’s winter and the weather isn’t great, you’ll still have an amazing view. Les Ombres is a fine dining restaurant with set, multi-course menus. They offer a cheaper 3 course lunch menu (starter, main, dessert) for €58 during the week days or if you’re hungry, there’s a 5 or 6 course tasting menu to choose from. The food is quite classical; roasted lamb with artichokes, white asaparagus with green chilli and a blue fish sausage. Note, Les Ombres does not have a Michelin Star.
