Guide to the Best Restaurants in Ibiza

If you’re on the hunt for the best restaurants in Ibiza then our guide has you covered. We’ve travelled to the white isle numerous times over the years and we know exactly where the best eating spots are. Ibiza town, San Antonio and Formentera, our list has some incredible spots on the beautiful Balearic island.

Our Favourite Restaurants in Ibiza and Formentera

I love the island of Ibiza and I’ve been lucky enough to discover the island by boat and by car. I’ve stayed in hotels and Airbnbs in different parts and I can’t get enough of the white isle. Other than the stunning beaches, coastlines and countryside, the island has an awesome culinary scene with some fantastic restaurants. Fresh, locally caught fish and superb Spanish beef and pork are on offer across the isle – all of which you need to try. Restaurants are in no particular order.

Tip: The vast majority of these restaurants are only open in the warmer months (April – October).

La Torreta

One of the genuinely good restaurants in the old Ibiza town, La Torretta is a gem amongst the tourist traps. Serving refined Mediterranean dishes, the food is ambitious yet not try-hard resulting in some really well cooked food. You’ll get Spanish classics like suckling pig and grilled Spanish steaks. It’s not just a meat and fries kind of place – there’s real care taken into the vegetables, garnish and sauces. A fillet of beef comes with an excellent beef jus and is incredibly well seasoned.

Juan y Andrea

Over to the stunning island of Formentera, there’s the legendary Juan y Andrea on the Playa Illetes. Probably the most famous chiringuitos on the island, it’s the restaurant for the rich and famous to eat at. Now, if I’m honest, it’s not the most refined food in the world and there are a lot of mixed opinions. I’ve eaten here 4 times and I’ve really enjoyed it each time. I’d advise that you go for the fresh, local fish & seafood. Yes you’ll spend a lot they’re unique produce that you won’t find anywhere else. I’d personally avoid the meat and salads. There’s a party atmosphere with most tables filled with those from the yachts in the bay. I personally love it, eating fresh fish with your feet in the sand and some cold rosé, what could be better?

Sa Capella

Sa Capella is a fantastic little restaurant in a converted church near the town of San Antonio. There’s an outdoor terrace in a really lovely walled section but the inside dining area is stunning. The low, dim lighting reflecting off the exposed stone walls of the old church make for a fantastic atmosphere. The service is really friendly and with views on the open kitchen with their charcoal grill, you know you’re in for a treat. The food is refined yet homely at the same time and the produce is stunning. The steaks are killer but I’d definitely recommend trying the suckling pig shoulder cooked in their wood fire oven.

Experimental

Experimental is a restaurant/beach club located on the southern edge of the island, next to the salt fields. With epic vistas over to the sea it’s a beautiful, secluded location with pretty much nothing next to the restaurant. Being up on a small hill there’s also a lovely sea breeze to keep you cool. The menu is on the small side but there’s a great choice of well cooked fish and meat with the majority grilled on their charcoal BBQ. It’s on the pricier side but you pay for an incredible location. If you come for dinner, make sure you book a table in time for sunset – you’ll get an incredible view!

Jockey Club Salinas

The Jockey Club on the Salinas beach is another restaurant/beach club serving up some great tapas on the beach. They serve up simple, honest but really well done food in a kind of hippy/beach-shack vibe. The chiringuitos is super airy with a great breeze coming in off the sea and is a lovely place for lunch on a hot day. Their tapas to start is awesome – I loved their garlic gambas and calamari. For mains there’s some serious cooking going on with low-temperature chicken and confit lamb shoulder on offer.

Sa Punta

Sa Punta is a great restaurant around the bay from Ibiza town in the bay of Cala Talamanca. They’ve got really awesome, layered outside dining area with great views across the bay. Started by a French couple who moved out to Ibiza, there’s a French influence in the food and wine. It’s refined yet very
Ibiza with quality Spanish produce being cooked up. The prices are on the expensive side (expect to pay €45+ for a steak) but the location, ambiance and quality of food are worth it.
